1. Mavcom and Socso join forces to protect aviation workers from unpaid contributions, ensure job placement opportunities

2. Ex-accountant charged with CBT involving over RM200,000
A 45-year-old former accountant, S. Suresh, was charged in the Johor Bahru Sessions Court with criminal breach of trust involving over RM200,000. He allegedly misappropriated the funds between January and October 2023 while employed at a private firm. Suresh pleaded not guilty. Judge Datuk Ahmad Kamal Arifin Ismail set bail at RM50,000 with one surety and scheduled the next mention for January 15, 2025.

3. Employees and MSMEs will suffer with insurance premium hikes, says MEF
The Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) warns that proposed insurance premium hikes will significantly burden businesses, especially micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). MEF President Datuk Dr. Syed Hussain Syed Husman notes that increased costs could strain working capital, hinder cash flow, and deter investments in digitalization and expansion. Businesses might raise prices to offset expenses, potentially losing competitiveness and market share. Additionally, employers may reduce employee benefits, affecting morale and productivity.
