1. Dinesh Sekhar, a human resources expert, urges the inclusion of mandatory mental health leave in Malaysia's Employment Act 1955 revisions and clearer guidelines for addressing workplace harassment. He highlights that 4.6% of Malaysians aged 15 and older and 16.5% aged 5 to 15 suffer from depression. Highlighting post-COVID-19 challenges and demanding work culture, he urges employers to adopt a humane approach towards employees’ mental well-being.

2. Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) deputy chairman Arutchelvan  criticised MP Teresa Kok's proposal for setting employer EPF contributions for foreign workers at 1.5% while requiring workers to contribute 10%. He called it discriminatory, noting that local workers receive a 13% employer contribution and emphasised that migrant workers perform undesirable jobs, warranting fair treatment and compensation, and urged big companies to meet the new wage requirements.
