1. Stern action will be taken against those misusing missing MCs, says Melaka exco rep

 

Melaka Health and Anti-Drug Committee chairman, Dr. Muhamad Akmal Saleh, warned of stern action against civil servants misusing "missing" medical certificates (MCs) to justify absenteeism. The state plans to work with health clinics to curb such practices and ensure MCs are properly issued and recorded. He stressed integrity in public service and warned against manipulating sick leave.

2. Industrial Court upholds MMC Engineering’s sacking of quality head

 

The Industrial Court upheld MMC Engineering’s dismissal of its former head of quality, citing serious misconduct. The employee failed to report welding defects and breached safety protocols, risking lives and the company’s reputation. The court ruled the termination was justified due to negligence and insubordination. The employee’s claims of unfair dismissal and compensation were dismissed.
