1. Pikom: Salaries of local talents stabilising at healthy rates against growing digital economy

The National Tech Association of Malaysia (Pikom) forecasts that digital talent salaries will stabilize at growth rates of 7.1% in 2024 and 7.12% in 2025. This follows a 13.9% increase in 2023, attributed to post-pandemic adjustments. The demand for expertise in AI, data science, cloud computing, and cybersecurity is driving this trend, reflecting Malaysia's robust digital economy.

2. Man Fined RM5,000 for Impersonating As Permanent Staff of IKN

A 32-year-old former contract employee at Malaysia's National Cancer Institute (IKN), Mohd Hafizullah Mat Zahid, was fined RM5,000 by the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court for impersonating permanent staff. He used a self-made, forged department identification card to gain access to IKN premises. The offense occurred on November 27, 2024.
